COVID-19 UPDATE 2023: My practice follows provincial guidelines as we continue through the Covid-19 pandemic. I offer telehealth music therapy using HIPAA-compliant teleconferencing for those clients who wish to participate in music therapy online rather than in person.
I am able to offer in-person music therapy following the most current health ministry guidelines. Currently those protocols include:
- Symptom screening before sessions (and cancelling without penalty if the client or anyone the client has been in contact with has any cold symptoms).
- Maintaining 6 feet of physical distance between myself and the client
- Myself and the client washing our hands before the session
- Sanitizing all instruments and equipment before and after each session
As a contractor, I come to the client’s home (or a convenient place in their community) for each session. Sessions typically occur once each week (though they can also be less frequent), and usually range from 45 minutes to 1 hour in duration.
Music Therapy Sessions: One-to-one music therapy with an individual client, focusing on areas the client wants to strengthen. Areas of focus might include social/communication skills, emotional regulation or expression, cognitive skills, spiritual expression or understanding, and physical strength and coordination.
Adapted Music Lessons: One-to-one music lessons with an individual student. These lessons aim to help students of all ages and abilities learn basic music skills, songwriting, and basic music theory.
Respite Care: I am occasionally able to offer respite care for families. Please note that I do not offer music therapy to anyone during respite shifts. $50.00/hour, minimum 2 hours per shift.
